About Saint Bernards

Saint Bernards are a large breed working dog that originated in the Western Alps. St. Bernards were originally bred as rescue dogs by a monk brotherhood at both the Great St Bernard Pass and Little St Bernard Pass. The breed is famous for both the tales of alpine rescues as well as for it's enormous size.

Powerful, proportionately tall figure, strong and muscular in every part, with powerful head and an intelligent expression. In dogs with a dark mask the expression appears more stern, but never ill-natured.
